Traveling to the same destination every summer can become boring, rather than the exciting time off it used to be. Finding a new destination can be overwhelming, considering it seems like there are unlimited options. To spice things up, I’ll be highlighting different destinations and breaking them down by continent. Here is the first part of my Summer Travel Series: USA.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Due to peak visitation residing in the winter time compliments of the ski slopes, summer is a perfect time to visit this destination, and is also a trip that won’t break the bank. Steamboat Springs is famous for exactly what you think, the natural hot springs that you can take a dip in. Other attractions include hiking through the many surrounding mountains, access to mineral pools, and many restaurants in the surrounding towns. Take a ride on the Steamboat Gondola upon first arrival to check out the amazing view and make a game plan.

Nashville, Tennessee

Over recent years, Nashville has created a big name for itself in the tourism industry. Recently becoming a booming spot for bachelor and bachelorette parties, Nashville is notorious for providing a good time. While it may be a less kid friendly destination, it’s a hot spot for foodies and country music fans. The small town has many attractions that are mainly concentrated downtown, including a long list of bars lining the streets filled with live music. Go grab some brunch, sign up for a bar crawl, or hop on a trolley to indulge in some transportainment.

Pahoa, Hawaii

A summer destination list cannot be complete without a beach destination. My top pick is for Pahoa, Hawaii. This is not your average trip to the beach by any means, and is also an extremely affordable option. Located on the Big Island, there are many outlets for entertainment, including snorkeling the many tide pools, jumping into its hot springs, or taking a hike up a volcano. You can also take a visit to the black sand beach, or check out the lava fields recent eruptions have created.

This is only a few of the many options for summer travel destinations that are located within the United States. If you’re looking to travel outside of the United States and this list didn’t quite hit the nail on the head for you, check out my upcoming feature on summer travel destinations in Europe.
